Its that time of year we all look forward to and I cant figure out if its as relaxing as it typically is because of the fact that we are simply coming down from high levels of stress (be they financial, family or work related) in the build up, or because once the 'big day' is over with we can avoid the shops, sit around eating leftover ham, swim (at least here in the southern hemisphere) and generally forget about all that other 'stuff' that clogs our days during the rest of the year.
Our traditional Christmas is simple; we get together with family and spend long summer days and evening. catching up and realizing that most of the rest of what we do doesn't beat being with those you love (even if they annoy the hell out of you).
You know - its days like these that we'll look back on with such fondness. Not the ones where we spent 9 hours working on performance reviews or writing reports - and its important that we remember that. I find it hard - thats why I have to write it down.
Have a great break - take time to appreciate the things that really matter.
